Encryption at rest (age)

Private key stays off the agent. Decryption is a documented out-of-band procedure.

Smoke queries

Each query runs against the source DB at backup-start. Used to detect data drift between source and restore. Max 5, ≤1024 bytes SQL each, 10s timeout. Must return a single scalar value.

Validation cadences

Cron expressions for each validation tier. Defaults are sane; stagger across hosts manually if you want to spread network load.

Confirm high-blast-radius change

You are disabling auto_update across the entire fleet. Every agent will stop pulling updates within one hour and will not resume until re-enabled.
